模式识别国家重点实验室是由原国家计委投资成立的首批国家重点实验室之一，实验室依托中国科学院自动化研究所，现有固定人员73人，国家杰出青年基金获得者4人，45岁以下青年科技工作者占80％。实验室流动人员包括博士后、研究生、高级访问学者和客座研究人员，形成了一个以年轻学术带头人为核心、以青年科研骨干为主体和以高素质的研究生队伍为主力的研究梯队。
实验室以模式识别基础理论、图像处理与计算机视觉、语音语言信息处理为主要研究方向，研究模式识别的机理以及有效的计算方法，为开发智能系统提供关键技术。成立二十多年来，实验室始终“面向国家战略需求，瞄准国际学科前沿”，努力建设成为一个高水平的、国际化的科研基地。
根据国家科技部《国家重点实验室建设与运行管理办法》以及中国科学院《关于2012年信息领域国家重点实验室换届工作的通知》，现面向国内外公开招聘实验室主任1名。具体事项如下：
一、岗位职责
1．组织制定实验室的发展战略和发展规划，并予以实施；
2．吸引和支持优秀学术带头人和青年学术骨干，构建创新团队，形成一支在国内外有影响的高水平研究队伍；
3．提高实验室科研能力和水平，组织申请、承担重大科技项目(含国际合作)，争取取得一批标志性的、有重要影响的成果；
4．促进实验室研究工作与多学科交叉融合，加强实验室与国内外的学术交流，提高实验室的学术影响和地位。
二、应聘条件
1．在本领域获得博士学位，具有开阔的战略视野，在信息领域有较深的学术造诣和较高的国内外知名度；
2．具有主持国内外大型科研项目的经验，具有带领科研团队的经历，具有较强的组织管理与协调能力；
3．具有较广泛的国内外学术联系与较强的国际学术交流能力
4．身心健康，为人正直，具有高度的敬业精神；
5．全职、全时在实验室工作，最迟于2012年12月31日前到位。

National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition
Director Position Open
The National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition (NLPR), affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Automation (CASIA), Beijing, China, is looking for a full-time researcher serving as director for five-year term (2013-2017). Qualified researchers from worldwide are welcome to apply.
Introduction of NLPR
The NLPR was founded in 1987 to become one of the first state key laboratories in China. Its mission is to conduct cutting-edge research in the broad area of pattern recognition, to develop key technologies, and to train postgraduate students. Currently, the NLPR has 73 staff members, including 68 staff researchers, and nearly 300 graduate students and visiting scholars. The research directions of the NLPR include the fundamentals of pattern recognition, image processing and computer vision, speech and language processing, and the applications to various areas. Duties of the Director
- Plan and execute the development strategy of the laboratory
- Establish competitive research teams via attracting excellent researchers
- Propose and execute key research projects from the government and international programs
- Conduct academic exchanges with the international community
Qualifications
- PhD in pattern recognition or related fields
- Well established and renowned in the international community
- Experience of conducting key research projects and skills of team management
- Professional dedication, willing to work at the laboratory in full time
