| Yunnan is home to 25 ethnic minorities, and is endowed with aremarkable traditional folk culture. And Kunming, the capital city, celebrated as "City of Eternal Spring", is well known for its diverse cultures, breath-taking natural scenery and pleasant climate. In tropical zone, Kunming is well-known for its comfortable weather condition all year round. The city has neither severe winter nor extremely hot summer. Stone forest. Being one of the National Scenic Resorts in China, Stone Forest Scenic Resort is 83km from Kunming and has a complete range of karst formations. Standing upright in the Stone Forest are innumerable cliffs and peaks, lofty and majestic, steep and precipitous, charming and enchanting. From afar, it really looks like a dense forest but as you walk closer, you will find "trees" are all slender stone pinnacles. The sight is vast covering some 350 kilometers. The Yi and Sani ethnic group who live there are hardworking and good at singing and dancing. Their folklore and culture are colorful and multifarious, backed up by a long history. |

Dianchi. The Dian Chi Lake, also called "Kunming Lake", "Kunming Pond", and "Southern Lake of Yunnan" in ancient times, is a plateau lake with beautiful scenery, the lake is 40 by 8 kilometers and is 1,886 meters above sea level. The lake water and the sky seem joining mutually like a city sea, dense mist and rolling water are on the surface of the lake, and sails are strolling above the water. It claims to be "a pearl on the Yungui Plateau" for a long time. Being the largest lake in Kunming and the sixth largest fresh water lake in China, Dian Chi Lake is 300 square kilometers (116 | ||||
| square miles) in surface area, 1,885 meters (6,185 feet) in altitude and about 40 kilometers (25 miles) in length (from north to south). The west side of Dian Chi Lake is the mountain forest, while on the east side are lands dotted with the fisheries and agribusinesses. Traditional fishing boats still sail on the lake, hooking and netting. Yunnan Nationalities Villages. This wonderful theme park displays the colorful folklore and architectures of 25 ethnic groups in Yunnan Province through shows and performances, a folklore museum and a wax museum for folklore, as well as the copy buildings of villages of the 25 ethnic groups. Yunnan Nationalities Villages is at a narrow peninsular at the north shore of the Dian Chi Lake. | Xishuangbanna. Xishuangbanna, as a National Scenic Resort, is rich in nature, historical and cultural resources, noted for the multifarious folklore, rain forests, rare plants and wildlife, etc. Its major tourist attractions include Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden, Manfeilong Pagodas (Tanuozhuanglong), Jingzhen Pavilion, Wild Elephant Gully, Dai people's village at Ganlanba, etc. The well-known traditional festival is the ethnic Dai's Water-Splashing Festival. It lasts for three days from April 13 to 15. Besides water- splashing event it also consists of some other events such as Dragon boat races, firing of indigenous missiles, flying Kongming Lamps, etc. |

Old Lijiang is a UNESCO listed site, which is well known for its sound preservation of ancient buildings and the distinctive Naxi culture. The aged wooden buildings decked with hanging red lanterns and local musicians playing the centuries old Naxi instruments in the time worn streets, display a lifestyle and culture that seems lost in time. | Dali. There are four scenic areas in the Dali region, including the Cangshan Mountains, Erhai Lake, Butterfly Spring and other historic relics ( in Dali City ), Jizu Mountain ( in Bingchuan County ), Shibao Mountain ( in Jianchuan County ) and Weibao Mountain ( in Weishan County).Among those areas, Dali City attracts the largest numbers of Chinese and foreign visitors. Dali Ancient City is widely acknowledged as "Backpackers' Paradise" in China. Foreign visitors like to stay in Dali ancient city. Some of them live there for months or even years, to observe and study the fascinating culture of Bai nationality. | Diqing. Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is situated in the northwest of Yunnan Province, with Tibet to its west and Sichuan to its east. It's the hinterland of the tourist route to Shangri-la. Diqing means "the place of good luck and happiness" in Tibetan language. It is located at southeast edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, east part of southern section of the Hengduan Mountain Range and the hinterland of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Province. Due to its specific location, it forms peculiar scenery. It is a harmonious blend of snow mountains, gorges, prairies, mountains, lakes, virgin forests and national customs. Between the snow mountains distributing many small or large meadows and plains, they are places for people of Diqing to exist and procreate; the quiet and beautiful water form countless lakes, among of them, Bitahai lake, Napahai lake, Hehai lake and Shouduhai lake are the most beautiful; the saint monasteries are the most telling witness of this freedom kingdom¡ªthe small Potala Palace Gadan Song Zanling Monastery; the perfect Garden of the Eden in people's dream¡ªShangri-la. |

| Over-the-Bridge Rice Noodles (¹ýÇÅÃ×Ïß guoqiao mixian) .It is a typical Yunnan local flavor that could only be tasted in some parts of Yunnan. The Over the Bridge Rice Noodles has a long history and it carries with itself a vivid love story. This famous dish consists of several courses and a big bowl of chicken soup with very thick oil on top to keep the heat for cooking the food items, including raw pork, cooked chicken pieces, pork liver, slices of squid and slices of carp for the first course to be dipped into the boiling hot soup. Vegetables are then added afterwards as the second course, and the rice noodles follow as the last course. It is a kind of snack food in Yunnan. Surely enough, you are eager to have a taste of Yunnan Over the Bridge Rice Noodles. |

| Steam Potted Chicken with Tienchi & Steam Potted Chicken with Cordyceps In the old times, there used to be a restaurant famous for its steam potted chicken. Later they created a new variety with gastrodia tuber in the soup, becoming one of the well known local nutritious dishes in Kunming. Early in the Qianlong Era of the Qing Dynasty, the steam potted chicken became popular among the common people. Jianshui County has a long history in producing the best pottery ware in Yunnan. Pots produced in this county have different shapes and forms. The steam pot has a hollow tube fixed in the center, up to the height of the pot. Foods including the raw chicken pieces, ginger, salt and so forth are put around the tube and the pot is placed onto a bigger pot with boiling water underneath. Steam will come up from the small hole in the middle to heat the food in the pot. The Chicken will be ready about three or four hours. The same method is used to cook other food and will increase the flavor of the dish. |
